A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A BUILDING MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT

As a Building Maintenance Assistant, you respond to maintenance requests and also perform equipment installation and scheduled preventative maintenance work in compliance with regulations for a skilled-nursing facility. You arrive for each shift determine to ensure that our facility, grounds, and equipment are well maintained so that our staff can provide the best quality care to residents possible. Troubleshooting and finding solutions are also important aspects of your job. You have a good attitude and work ethic as you work with the rest of your team. Your mechanical know-how and interpersonal skills come in handy as you answer maintenance requests in the building, interacting with staff, residents, and families. Maintaining our building, grounds, and equipment with excellence while making a positive impact in the lives of our residents and their families brings you satisfaction!

WORK SCHEDULE

Our Building Maintenance Assistants are scheduled either from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.; or 12:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.; and other hours as volunteered or required, with two 15-minute rest periods and one 30-minute unpaid meal period per 8 hour shift.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A BUILDING MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT

  • Graduation from high school or GED certificate desirable.
  • Experience required in fixing things and a mechanical inclination. On the job training provided.
  • Must possess a valid Pennsylvania Drivers' License
